Poker pearl #5

The latest Card Player magazine (dated Nov. 19, casino edition, pp. 46-47) interviewed David "Raptor" Benefield, an online whiz from Fort Worth TX.

They asked him "What is the bigest mistake that inexperienced cash-game players make?" I like his answer:

"Calling raises out of position. You
should just never do it. That was
definitely my biggest leak (as I
was learning). Position is by far
the most important aspect of
poker, and people who aren't as
experienced or think they are
good definitely undervalue it."

  1. Good seeing you at the Bodonkey last night. I was multi-tasking and unable to chat much -- except for a little trash talk with Waffles!
