Bounty tournaments are fun, but frustrating

Played in a $4 sniper tournament (also called bounty tournaments) earlier Sunday night. $3 goes to the prize pool, $1 for each player you knock out. 667 runners, first place paid $480.

During the early stages, I had AA and KK twice. I won money on two of them. One AA, the other guy had AK and moved me all in. Ok, hurt me, I call. On one of the KK hands, I stacked another player.

When we were down to 22 players, I had around 66,000 in chips and ran into this nightmare (my third time tonight to hold KK):



I built back up when this hand played out:

I flopped two pair, but the villain flopped a higher two pair. This knocked my stack down to around 25,000. There were 10 players left, and I was now the short stack.

Then a few hands later, I picked up (on the button) ♥Q ♦Q, sweet. It folded to me, and I moved all in. To make a raise that was half my stack would look suspicious. Sure enough, I was called by ♠A ♥3. At this point, I was a 71.14% favorite, but the flop was scary: ♣2 ♦5 ♦3. This gave him more outs. Three aces, four 4s and now two 3s are all outs. I was now down to a 66.36% favorite, according to the Card Player odds calculator.

The turn was the killer: ♠4, giving him a straight. The river was a meaningless ♠K. I'd played more than four hours to place 10th, which didn't pay anything, but wait til next time! (I didn't get a snapshot of the busto hand, so here's the hand history.)
