Free money works for me

I saw the flyer above last March. Horseshoe Casino Tunica occasionally has a freeroll like this one. The catch is you have to play 60 hours in cash games (tournaments don't count). The last time, it was only 40 hours, and that was a grind for me. I like tournaments -- you go play, then take off when you get knocked out.

If you looked at it, you might have noticed one other way to qualify: win one of the daily tournaments. When you chop, the staff count the chips and, even though the money is split equally, only the chip leader qualfies for the freeroll. I chopped yesterday, and I was the chip leader, so next Monday I'll be free rollin'.

  6. That's a great loophole to playing 60 hours - win a tourney... Hey, if you're looking for a chop, check the tourney monitor and they show the potential chop amount on the screen, fyi... ;) Good luck!

  7. I'd be curious to see your understanding as to why players chop so much. When they enter the tournament, what is their expectation? To hope to chop? I would imagine that they are hoping to steamroll the opposition.

Then suddenly they make it to the final table and are willing to chop. When and why does the mindset switch?

Or did they enter the tournament hoping to chop from the start?

    Enjoy the blog as always.
