Odds and ends


I'm leaving tomorrow for the North American Bridge Championships (called NABC) in Philadelphia. I have some nice partners -- Kate Burton, Cindy Bernstein and Rich Rothwarf -- so I'm excited. This will last for 11 days and ends Sunday, July 22.

When I return, the 2012 World Poker Open will be ongoing at the Gold Strike Casino, and I may just have to go play in a few events.

In August, the Bridge World Championships will be held in Lille, France, and I'm excited to say I'll be going to play in the Transnational Mixed Teams. I believe they are calling it the World Mind Sports Games now, and, besides bridge, it includes chess, go and draughts. More on this later.

Above: I played in a small MTT today. My bust out hand: I had K-Q and the villain had 4-6 suited, all-in preflop. A 6 came on the turn, natch.

    Good luck in Philly Mojo. When do you go to France? The PQ and I should be heading out to Biloxi around August 11th or so just for a short trip.

    It would seem that you are experiencing the fact that once you retire you somehow get busier than ever. Best wishes on all your endeavors. Perhaps I could go to France with you. I could carry luggage, fetch your drinks, see that your camera batteries are charged, etc.? Oui?
