Enough abuse

Above: The Gold Strike Casino Tunica is the host of the World Poker Open.

The Main Event at the World Poker Open ($2600) began yesterday. There was Day 1A (Friday) and Day 1B today. Last night I played in a Mega Satellite $160. There were 70 runners, so three would get seats to Day 1B and fourth-place would get some money. When I had 20 big blinds, I raised with A-K and was shoved on by a slightly larger stack. Do you or don't you?

I called and he turned over A-Q, sweet. That was great until he turned a flush and I was toast.

I've been running bad. Was knocked out of two online tournaments recently (when deep) with similar hands: A-J < A-10, A-10 < A-10 (flush) and A-10 < A-3.. Gotta win the flips and you certainly gotta win when you have the villain crushed.
Above: The Gold Strike has refurbished its buffet. My rating of it is medium.

  1. Sorry Mojo, you definitely have been getting the worst of it lately. But I know it will turn around before long. Keep on plugging away.

  2. Those 60:40's can kill ya when you are the 60.

God protects fools and loose players with big stacks.

  3. Let's start getting our money in bad. It seems to work for everyone else! lol. We tried the new buffet, too. The food was ok, but I'm not a big fan of the design, it seems out of place with the rest of the casino (which is chandeliers, sculptures, etc.), as it's very..industrial is the word I guess. Modern industrial. Meh.

  4. Of course you call with A-K under those circustances. No use letting your stack go down and finishing in the middle of the pack.
