A lazy weekend

Played a lot of poker this weekend. Saturday I entered the Horseshoe $160 buy-in tourney (held next door at the Road House). Wasn't able to chip up much and eventually went all in with K Q and ran into aces. The card Gods know when you're desperate and punish you -- just sayin'.

Blogger Jusdealem was there with her hubby (Russ), and it was good to see old friends.

Sunday, I played poker in three online rebuy tournaments, and had a good day. Finished third twice (see one of them above) and 15th in another. Didn't win a whole lot of money, but it was a confidence booster.

Between online poker tournaments, I played bridge online with Kate and we won the 8 p.m. speedball IMP game on BBO with 56.45 IMPs scored over 12 boards. Yes, gifts were flying our way left and right, but still it's fun to win.

This is a great time to be a St. Louis Cardinal fan. I'm headed to Busch Stadium this coming Saturday to see my favorite team take on the Boston Red Sox in Game 3. Can't wait!

Above: Cardinal fans start young. This was taken at the first playoff game against the Los Angeles Dodgers -- click to enlarge. (Image taken with my Canon 40D.)

Go Cards... or err... don't win Sox!

  2. I mentioned you in my blog today. I'm wondering if Bovada is paying you when you win, or if you're playing "intrastate" (basically want to know if I can play for small amounts of money here in Texas)... ;)

  6. You seem to do exceptionally well on Bovada. Are there many other tournaments you play there other than the ones you seem to crush or are you running in god mode there?

I am rooting for the Red Sox (as any good Chicago fan should!) but am picking the Cards in seven.

  7. Thanks to all who left comments.

@lightning: The rebuy tournaments seem to attract loose players because of the RB and add-on. I've had good luck lately in them waiting for the nuts and getting doubled up.
