November not far off

Above: The Oct. 2 2013 issue of Card Player magazine.

Most of the pundits are picking J.C. Tran to win the WSOP to be held next month. Why not? He's the chip leader and has two bracelets and a ton of tournament earnings.

Sure, I like Tran, but I'm going a different route. I'm picking Amir Lehavot, the oldest player left in the field.

In the Card Player magazine shown above, the writer asked Lehavot:

Q: What would it mean for you to come out of the event with pokers' most prestigious title, and all the money and accolades that are associated with such a crown?

Lehavot: Honestly, I haven't thought about all of that too much because I feel that it will make it more difficult for me to focus while in the moment. I just want to play the game like I know I can, and if I win that would be great. Then I will think about it. I am sure it would mean a lot.

Who are you picking to win it all?

  1. Like most people, I'm picking JC Tran to win it.... but my dark horse is the Frenchman Sylvain Loosli. He's sixth in chips, so there a long way to go, but I like this guy's play a lot.

  2. I'm picking Ryan Reiss to win it. I'm excited to see it play out.
