Above: The shot clock when I busted out of the Hollywood Poker Open.
The HPO is a great event. There are one-hour levels and players start with 25,000 chips. In Level 10, the blinds were only 500/1000 with 100 antes. During Level 9 and 10, I had three bad things happen. The last one a guy called a three bet and flopped a set of 5s. I had top pair, top kicker with a redraw to the nut flush. The flush didn't get there, so good game me.
Tough break MOJO, but hopefully your Seniors finish will help to cushion the blow... Enjoy the rest of your stay, and good luck!
ReplyDeleteThat's a damn shame, MOJO, sorry. And I'm sorry I didn't make it down there yesterday to check out the tournament and to rail for you. I will probably be hitting the M tomorrow if you're there, or keep me posted on your activities until the Main starts and lets see if we can get together to share bad beat stories.
ReplyDeleteI imagine your 2015 tournament ROI is still a tad in the positive...
ReplyDeleteAh well ... we await the next MOJO success story. : o )
OK...back to vegas to win the Main Event. Selling any pieces of the action?
ReplyDelete@PokahDave: Nah, if I do something good, I want to keep it all. If I don't do anything good, I don't want to feel like I let somebody down. There's also tax implications.
ReplyDeleteI hear ya...I would do the same but it never hurts to ask...
