Good news, bad news

Above: The Rio is the venue for the 2014 World Series of Poker.

I advanced to Day 3 which will be played on Thursday, and that's the good news. I only have 36,000 chips and that's the bad news. Everything that could go wrong today did, so maybe I'm due for good luck next time. What can I say -- survive and advance.

The highlight of my day: A player limped in (as an aside, he was the only player to do this, but he did it with good hands and bad hands). I had 4 2 and raised three times his bet. The flop was J 7 5. I bet, and he went away. Should I have slow-played it?

  2. Growing your bag of chips is possible. Reentering the game after elimination is not.

  4. Re slow playing: What if you give a free card and the turn is a diamond higher than 4 or the board pairs?

You know how to play the short stack. Good luck! btw -- I am getting into town late Friday afternoon. Didn't know how long you were going to be around and if it depended on how deep you go in the Main Event.
