The PPC rolls into Tunica

Above: The Horseshoe Casino Tunica is the venue for the PPC (Pro Players' Championship) Tournament currently playing in Tunica.

The Horseshoe Tunica has been holding more tournaments now that they've remodeled and expanded their poker room. The PPC had their first of four Day 1s today, and I qualified for Sunday's Main Event final. 114 runners paid $360 and 22 of us are left. I qualified with 59,000 chips or 20 big blinds (but blinds are about to go up). Short stack ninja, what they hey.

I had one unlucky hand in a 64,000 pot. I raised from late position with A-9. The big blind called with J-7. The flop was 9-8-2 with two hearts. The villain checked, I bet, and the BB shoved for 22K more. This was a massive overbet, so I finally decided he was on a heart flush draw, so I called. Instead, he had basically a bluff. A jack on the river shipped the pot to him, however, and that's how it goes.

GL me on Sunday.

EDIT: Here's a link to chip counts (click here). It looks like I'm 24th out of the 36 who qualified on Day 1A and Day 1B. Two more flights on Saturday, of course.
