I left for work a little early this morning -- I didn't want to be late on my last day. Is that crazy? I mean what are they going to do, fire me?
There was the obligatory party in the afternoon. There was cake and punch and congratulatory cards. There were hugs and handshakes. There was also a fancy flat panel Sony Bravia TV, nice.
Welcome to the ranks of the unemployed. It aint all its cracked up to be, but does mark a life well lived.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Dave. Enjoy.
@TenMile: Thanks, I'm looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Mojo!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, MOJO. Well done.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations MOJO. Time to turn the page. Best of luck with your future endeavors.
ReplyDeleteI am certain the party was anything but obligatory. No doubt you'll be missed.

we drop. Congrats, buddy.
Now you can start that Photo a Day blog you've been wanting to start.
ReplyDeleteThanks to all the well-wishers.
ReplyDelete@Joni: that's a great Idea -- I'll have to think about it.
Congrats, Dave. Knowing what a guy of high energy you are, I suspect your blog will get even more interesting in the coming years as you seek out new challenges.
ReplyDeleteAll the best on your special day, my friend.

ReplyDeleteHope to see you in Toronto.
Hey, you colleagues evidently agree with us.

And that TV beats a watch.
It's nice to be loved! And sounds like you had some good friends at your work. Sony Bravia? Bravo! That's what we have and we like it a lot!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment today - you said it right!
Congrats Mojo! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, enjoy. At least you got a party. After 20 years I got a trip to the front door
ReplyDeleteLooked at that cake a little closer...I don't think you're going to spend much time in a rockin' chair!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to retirement - it has its good and not so good points depending on your personality. For instance I'm a CNN junkie and like being able to watch it whenever I want. You'll probably get to play more bridge and poker or develop other hobbies. It ain't about "have to" any more. I do miss my job, though, all that being said. My retirement present was a fine-free library care, which I will definitely enjoy. So, congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Enjoy!
