Yesterday, I folded quads. I was playing on Bovada in a $5 sit-and-go.
Question No. 1: Why did I fold four-of-a-kind? (Answer tomorrow.)
Question No. 2: Have you ever folded quadzilla?
UPDATE: Just to clarify, there were not four of anything on the board. There was not a possible straight flush on the board. There was not three of another rank on the board.
1. Because the board was Ts Jx Js Qs Ks?
ReplyDelete2. No.
Never happened to me before. I can see myself folding in two situations.
ReplyDelete1. I have JJ on a KKKJJ board and villain is all in.
2. I have JJ on a As Ks Qs Js Jx board and villain is all in. (Or there are four to a straight flush on the board.)
Bummer. Sorry it happened to you.
I am sure the answer has already been posted. And no -- I have never folded quads.
ReplyDeleteWhere is the bad beat jackpot when you need it?
ReplyDeleteThe board was x x x x where x = the pip of the quad. You did not have an A nor a K, where any A is the nuts.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I have folded quads in the situation I described above as well. :-(
ReplyDeleteI folded quads. Was paying more attention to the football game on TV than the poker game. At least I won the football bet ;)
ReplyDelete@PokerMeister: Thanks for your comment. There were not four of anything on the board. I've updated the post to reflect that.
ReplyDelete@Matt: Good guess, but that wasn't the case.
ReplyDelete@Yakshi: Same thing -- good guess, but that wasn't it.
You were timed out because of a disconnect / dropped connection. Lovely internet :-)
ReplyDeleteI am not sure why you folded quads although if I was to guess any of the above answers would be good.
ReplyDeleteI have actually folded quads only once and been right. I had QQ, raised pre, guy re-raises me. The flop comes QQK and based on his betting and patterns and lack of fear I immediately put him on KK. I am drooling at this point. He bets. I call. Turn is nothing. He bets. I raise. He calls trapping me. The river is the final K. He jams all in. I fold. He shows KK.
