The world is a less interesting place

George Carlin passed away last night. According to Wikipedia, he "was especially noted for his political and black humor and his observations on language, psychology, and religion along with many taboo subjects."

In the Sixties, he had many routines, one of them in which he played a disk jockey. "The Beatles' latest record, when played backwards at slow speed, says 'Dummy! You're playing it backwards at slow speed!'"

Carlin is probably best known for his Seven Dirty Words that you couldn't say on television.

As far as I know, Carlin didn't do satire on poker players, but if he did, these might be the seven things a poker player couldn't say on TV:

1. "I had outs."
Translation: "I knew I was beat, but I couldn't lay my hand down."

2. "Nice river."
Translation: "You donkey! You called all the way with that s**t?"

3. "I put you on a bluff."
Translation: "I hate to fold, even when I know I should."

4. "I had pot odds."
Translation: "I'm a donkey and I wouldn't know pot odds if they came to my house to visit."

5. "You have to bluff once in a while as part of a balanced game."
Translation: "There goes half my stack AGAIN. What's wrong with me?"

6. "I never win with pocket aces."
Translation: "Raise with A A? Are you kidding me? I might only win the blinds."

7. "Kicker? I don't need no stinkin' kicker."
Translation: "Hee haw."
