Both finesses worked

There is a regional bridge tournament being held this week in Tunica MS at Sam's Town Casino.

A big sign welcomes players to Sam's Town.

I played in the Flighted Open Pairs Thursday and was declarer in 2 on board #31 in the evening (hands rotated):

K 10 6 3
A Q 8
A K 10 6
J 5
===
J 7
9 7 5 3
9 8 7 4
A 9 8

West North East South
1 Dbl 1 Pass
1NT Dbl Pass 2
All Pass

West led the K. "Let me think about this, okay play the ace!" I joked and everybody laughed. I cashed the A. I didn't have a lot of entries to my hand, so I tried the effect of leading a low spade from the dummy. My RHO played low and I put in the J which won the trick! Now, I knew where the spades were. My RHO obviously had the queen, and my LHO had the ace. I led another spade and when LHO ducked, I played the K, which held.

Now I had control. I drew another round of trump, and then ruffed two spades (using the Q as an entry back to dummy). In the end, the opponents took one club, one heart and one trump trick, and I made four for plus 130 and a 9 on a 12 top.
I guess you could say that I finessed my RHO for the Q and that won; next, I finessed my LHO for the A and that won too. Both finesses won, as it were.

Here's the complete deal:

K 10 6 3
A Q 8
A K 10 6
J 5
A 9 8 2 Q 5 4
K J 10 6 4 2
J 5 2 Q 3
Q 7 6 3 K 10 4 2
J 7
9 7 5 3
9 8 7 4
A 9 8

Sam's Town is nicely landscaped.

Sam's Town looks different at night.
