Take me out to the ballgame

Above: Players warm up before the game.

Temperatures in the 70s -- a great time to head to the ballpark Thursday evening. The local team, the Memphis Redbirds, is the St. Louis Cardinals' AAA minor league team.

Games are held at Autozone Park, one of the best in all of minor leagues.

Above: A player gets under the pitch and pops one up.

Above: The mascot is Rockey. Notice that he's giving me the finger.

Above: The throw is high and Eugenio Velez slides safely into second base.

  1. Nice shots, MOJO! Canon 40D? That's a fine camera. And great weather for baseball. Sometimes, the minors are more fun than the majors! Lois Anne has a Nikon D40. :-)

  2. When I was growing up in St. Louis, Cardinals fans were interested in who was doing well in Memphis and might be coming up to join the Cardinals.

  3. That had to earn Rocky an invite to the next gathering. A quality editorial remark directed at an old editor.
