Where do they get these players?
Playing in a $12+1 MTT on Bovada today, I was struggling along with 4120 in chips where the starting stack was 5000. On the button, I picked up ♣A ♠A and was delighted to see it raised three times the big blind to 900 and a call.
Because there were two of them, I would normally make a big re-raise to try and end it there (or get heads up). Because I needed the chips, however, I took the risk and re-raised only to 1950. The original raiser moved all in and the second guy also moved in.
I called, of course, and my hand held up. The first guy had Q-Q, but the other guy showed: ♣8 ♦5!

ReplyDelete85 watched to much of ESPN's coverage of the WSOP. :)
ReplyDeleteBut they were soooted! Oh wait... No they weren't...
ReplyDeleteThe really sick thing there is while you are a nice favorite your not a huge favorite to win the pot. 66% is pretty good.. but it also means you get fucked bad a lot of the time. Hope you made good use of the chips.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the 8 5 - I have played against so many geniuses that reason that they are "pot committed" or have "pot odds"...
ReplyDelete@SirWaffles: The 8-5 flopped a gutshot and turned a double belly-buster. Fortunately, he didn't hit. Unfortunately, I busted out around 30th or 40th or something like that.
