Above: The 2013 Gulf Coast Poker Championship is currently underway at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi MS.

One of the nice things about being retired is that I don't have to always plan ahead -- last minute is not a problem. Yesterday, I decided to head for the beach as in the Gulf of Mexico to play in the poker tournament that ends Labor Day. Today is Day 1A of Event 7. The buyin is cheap - $240. Tomorrow is Day 1B for those who are donkeys are unlucky today. Qualifiers from both days will reassemble Thursday for Day 2. Sounds like fun.

  1. I was wondering if you were going to this. I thought you might, they have good turnouts in Biloxi. Good luck!!!

  3. You describe yourself as retired, which implicitly characterizes your poker playing as recreation rather than vocation. Congratulations. I hope it continues to fulfill that role.
