The North American Bridge Championships began recently in Atlanta GA. I came last night and plan to play Monday and Tuesday in the Senior Swiss Teams. After that, I'm not sure.
It's always nice to run into old friends at these tournaments. I just came back from lunch with a partner I played with in 1969 in the Far East Bridge Championships representing Korea (where he and I lived as soldiers). He reminded me that we beat China (Taiwan) in the round robin and they finished second in the Bermuda Bowl later that year. He said he likes to say we beat the second-best team in the world which may be only a slight exaggeration.
