Thanks for the support from bloggers and friends during my run in the Seniors Event at the WSOP. It was exciting to be at the final table, and even more so when three-handed.
I was happy to pick up the mighty deuce-four and raise with it, not once, but twice. Any respectable poker player knows the power of these two cards. I thought about The Poker Grump both times. He's the player who taught me the power. Bloggers have to stick together, you know.
You can see all the results here.
Above: Photo of me when we were three-handed. Notice my puny stack compared to the other two?
Hey, World?
ReplyDeleteWanna be impressed?
I know Dave Smith!
2 BB to $QuarterMil...Not too shabby! In fact impressive.
Me too! Well done Dave, it was exciting as hell to follow along on the virtual rail then be able to stream the final table. A bit tired at work today though.
ReplyDeleteDave - Great job! Sorry you couldn't take down the bracelet, but I think you have a quarter of a million reasons to be pretty damned proud of yourself this morning!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Dave. I watched the entire thing on the 30-minute delayed stream. You played incredibly well. I had a real ball watching you play, though my wife got really tired of me yelling to her in the other room, "Another player just dropped out! Dave advanced another spot! I know that guy!!" Seriously, well done!
ReplyDeleteAwesome job! Congrats and enjoy the rest of your trip!
ReplyDeleteWay to go! Great run.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 3rd place finish. Will you be coming back out to play the Main Event or any other events?

Congratulations! All of that pent up EV that you've experienced in prior tournaments finally came to fruition when it counted most! Awesome job! I'm very happy for you.
ReplyDeleteWow! Congratulations! Nice guys do finish first (or third, in this case).
ReplyDeleteGreat job, MOJO. As I tweeted, there were some great comments about your play by the commentators. I wonder if there's any way for you to hear that? They definitely felt you should not have been called on your last hand.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have time and the inclination to do a long post (you know, like the kind I do) about the whole experience!
Good work and congrats on the score..!!
ReplyDeleteYou are the MAN!
ReplyDeleteGreat run! Spent my Sunday following you all the way, then went out with my daughter at 2am to eat and celebrate!
ReplyDeleteNothing like picking one of the biggest stages in the poker world to strut your stuff!
CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMost righteous! You went from being The Man to The Deity. VERY well done Mojo!!!
ReplyDelete:D :D :D :D :D.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you and proud that one of our own has found success! Congratulations!
