Hey, what's this?

I'm in Florida, but I see on Basefook, er, Facebook that there's a tournament this weekend at the Horseshoe Tunica Casino. Time to head to my other home, isn't it.

This is one of those reentry tournaments where you have more than one chance to qualify for the final. I'm not sure how I feel about them, but I guess they are a good deal -- builds the prize pool and all that. What do you think?

  2. I think re-entry tournaments are fine when we are talking about money.

On the other hand, the repĂȘchage system that was used in the recent bridge world championships seems completely wrong.

  3. I'm playing! Played their nightly last night to warm up. Final tabled, but didn't cash. The dealers said there should be 350-400 entries. But they are talking bad weather this weekend, so that might lower the numbers. We had surprise sleet & ice this morning that caused a bunch of traffic problems and a few fatalities. I'd probably stay in Florida if I were you ha, I hate cold weather..but it'd be great to see you!

  4. I am not going to re-enter a re-entry tournament so that part doesn't help me. It does help build the pot, and it may inadvertently help if somebody plays poorly due to the fact they can re-enter. Great if they don't catch. Sucky if they do.

  5. Hi Dave! You want my advice about poker? Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! I'd say save your money, buy some golf clubs and lessons and head out to your local course! :)
