Poker pearl # 78

Dan Smith (great last name!) has been tearing up the poker tables lately and is having one of the tournament poker's best years ever. Here's one of the tips he gave for final table strategy:

Recognize that there will be setbacks.

"I recenlty saw a really good player in Paris try an unsuccessful bluff, and was very tilted and just bluffed off the rest of his chips. You shouldn't be too emotional when you play, in reation to the ups and downs, because there are going to be a lot of them over the course of a tournament. You should just try to focus on making the best decisions you can to maximize your chance of winning from that point on."

  2. The guy with the great last name is a philosopher and that philosophy espoused in this quote could very well be one to live by, not only in poker, but in life!
